Films Submission to Docaviv Film Festival

Docaviv 2022

Submission is open until Thursday, January 20, 2022

The 24th edition of Docaviv – the Tel Aviv International Documentary Film Festival will take place May 19th to 28th, 2022.

Docaviv is the largest film festival in Tel Aviv and the only festival in Israel dedicated to documentary films. Held annually each spring, Docaviv is an Oscar® qualifying festival screening around 120 films every year. The program includes the best of world and Israeli documentary cinema, debut films, special screenings, seminars, outdoor screenings, artist talks, industry events, and more.

Docaviv has the following competitive sections, in addition to several non-competitive sections.

1) International Competition

2) Depth of Field Competition – for films that push the boundaries of the documentary genre

3) Beyond the Screen Competition – for films that ignite both personal and societal change

4) Shorts Competition

5) Israeli Competition

6) Israeli Students Competition

The selection committee prioritizes new and innovative films with strong artistic vision. Please note that you do not submit your film for a specific competition, but rather for the program as a whole – international short film or international feature film. If chosen, the selection committee will decide on the film’s place in our program.

Festival screenings must be Israeli premieres. Eligible films must never have been screened, broadcasted, or made available online in Israel.

Submission deadlines for international films:

Early Birds: December 10th, 2021 – for films completed by November 2021

Final Deadline: January 20th, 2022 – for films to be completed by May 1st 2022

We encourage you to apply as soon as you are ready in order to have more chances of selection.

Entry fees:
25.00€ for films longer than 40 minutes.
15.00€ for short films (up to 40 minutes in length).
